Accident Risk Management (ARM) Programmes
Some people are more likely than others to have a crash. Knowing who they are, and why, is an important part of managing your risk.
The benefits of ARM Survey
- Designed by safety professionals and psychologists, ARM Survey is a survey that measures Attitudinal Safety Awareness (ASA)
- Like other types of knowledge and skills, Attitudinal Safety Awareness is acquired through exposure to learning and the accumulation of life experiences
- A user-friendly yet powerful tool, ARM Survey is an innovative approach toward developing a safer working environment
Areas covered in the ARM Survey
- Safety control: a measure of how much control a person believes they have over events in their life
- Risk avoidance: a measure of how committed a person is to following proper safety policies and procedures
- Stress tolerance: a measure of the extent to which a person believes they can manage their stress
- Driver attitude: a measure of the ability a person has to drive sensibly, courteously and defensively
- Quality orientation: a measure of how much a person strives for quality and continuous improvement both in terms of safety and professionalism
To ensure a level playing field, the ARM Survey has internal validity measures that adjust for poor literacy/comprehension skills and cultural bias.
