IBANZ Conference, Propel 2010

This year’s conference was held in Auckland at SkyCity from Wednesday 18th – Friday 20th August. With over 600 attendees it was the highest attended IBANZ conference in history!

Lumley was proud to continue its Gold Sponsorship of the conference along with sponsorship of the Young Professionals Stream.

Professional development was the focus at Propel 2010 with plenty of choices regardless of level of experience. The workshops covered realistic scenarios that gave the delegates the opportunity to explore issues in depth from all angles.

Together, we made a difference to our community

Helping those less fortunate was what the Lumley stand was all about at Propel 2010.

Through a number of highly-successful charity auctions, we managed to raise a total of $21,410 for a variety of New Zealand charity groups.

Lumley donated the main auction prize, a trip for two to watch the All Blacks live in Hong Kong along with a unique artwork created by thousands of fingerprints donated by the attendees over the course of the conference.

Margaret Watterson of Nexus Insurance Brokers won this prize with a winning bid of $6,800 which is being donated to Starship Children’s Hospital.

We would also like to congratulate Judith Nelson from Roughton Nelson who won an iPad by guessing how many fingerprints were used to create the artwork.

Our speakers also made an impression

In addition to our stand, Lumley’s keynote speaker, Peter Richie, provided an engaging presentation about the lessons learnt during his time as CEO of McDonalds Australasia. Our other speakers, Dr. Lester Levy and Alison Mooney, discussed ways to attract Generation X, Y and Z customers, employees and future leaders, and gave insights on how to get results from your staff and customers.

Alongside these speakers Lumley’s expert teams held a number of technical workshop sessions which were very well attended.
