Christchurch Earthquakes

Responding to the recent Christchurch earthquakes and aftershocks is our top priority at Lumley, and the key focus for our claims and earthquake-support teams.

We want to reassure Lumley customers that we understand this is a stressful  situation, and that our team are working hard to make the insurance claims process as straightforward as possible for you. 

The Earthquake Commission (EQC) has advised that people with Home and Contents claims should contact them directly. Claims can be lodged by calling the EQC’s free phone number 0800 326 243 (0800DAMAGE), or by completing an online claim form on their website.

We encourage any commercial Lumley customers affected by the Canterbury earthquake to contact their Broker to make an insurance claim.

Alternatively if you don’t have a Broker or would like to contact Lumley directly please call our Crisis Claims Team on 0800 654 985 and the team will be able to lodge your claim.

We have a ‘fast track’ process here at Lumley to manage claims from the earthquake, to ensure that we make things as straightforward as possible for you during this time.
