Canterbury Earthquake Business Interruption information session

Following the Canterbury earthquake in September 2010, a number of technical questions came to the forefront with Brokers who had clients affected by the quake. Many of these questions were in respect to Business Interruption, and the numerous interpretations this cover can have in these untested times.

In response to the high demand for information on this topic, Lumley hosted a Business Interruption information session on Thursday 4th November.

The speakers included experts Peter Faire from Fawcett Faire Limited, Darryl Cowan from Cunningham Lindsey, and Tony Patterson an Insurance Lawyer. They addressed the most pressing BI issues and provide advice on how loss adjustors will be treating BI claims.

Topics covered included:

  • Depopulation
  • Additional Increased Cost Of Working (AICOW)
  • BI losses
  • Prevention of access

For those of you that weren't able to attend the session please watch the full session below.

Please note: The views expressed in this presentation are made by independent speakers, and are not necessarily the views of Lumley.
